AquAVentura, snorkelling excursions, Caleta de Fuste

AquAVentura have been operating now for over four years and offer the chance for visitors to Caleta de Fuste to spend two hours on an adventure, exploring the aquatic ecosystem in a bay, especially selected for its combination of shallow waters, rich marine life and sheltered and safe position.

Location

AquAVenture operate from a kiosk adjacent to the water sports jetty, opposite the Castle, in Caleta´s picturesque harbour. If you look at the map of Caleta de Fuste and move the mouse over Aquaventura, you will be able to see exactly where they are located.

Your Adventure

The experience starts at the jetty, where you will receive a warm welcome from “Peter the Boatman” as the locals now refer to him. He will accompany you to the 6-meter Zodiac inflatable boat, where you will be skilfully fitted out with a wetsuit, snorkel, mask, fins and lifejacket.

On the ride out to the snorkelling site, surf the waves as the boat cruises along the coastline, leaving behind the crowds of the resort.

After about ten minutes the boat anchors at the shallow bay. There is a short briefing and orientation by Peter, your qualified BSAC instructor.

No previous experience is required here, as everyone has adequate one to one instruction if required. Any nervousness is soon forgotten as you marvel at the fish immediately surrounding you in the crystal clear waters and the reassuring way the trip is conducted. The wetsuits give added buoyancy, but if you wish, you can be fitted with a snorkelling vest, (just like a lifejacket) to help with your confidence in the water.

You will see different species depending on the time of year, the tide and sea conditions. Some people having made two trips, during their holiday week to do just that. (Don’t forget to ask for your discount)

Cost

€28 for adults and €20 for children (5 to 14yrs)
