Sport in Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura
Golf
Caleta de Fuste's first golf course, The Fuerteventura Golf Course , which is obviously a quality golf course because it hosted the 2004 Spanish Open golf tournament. In 2006 a second 18 hole course opened, alongside the first one, and is called the Salinas de Antigua course. This course offers slightly different challenges as water comes into play at almost all of the holes.
Football
There are goalposts on the beach at Caleta de Fuste. We are not sure who they belong to, but they seem to be used by a variety of people for a kick about. People also play on the hardcourt pitch near the Castillo roundabout next to the main road. You can watch the main games from the Premier League, the Championship and the Spanish League in many of the bars in Caleta. There are several small football clubs on the island. The highest place team to Caleta is Union Puerto del Rosario who play in the capital. They are in the Canarias Preferente League. The biggest club on the island is CD Corralejo who play in the town at the north of the island. They play in the Spanish Third Division, Group 12. .See Football
Jogging / Running
The most popular early morning run in Caleta de Fuste seems to be along the coastal path towards Nuevo Horizonte. It seems to be far enough for most people while they are on holiday. See the running page for more details of running in and around Caleta
Water sports
The bay at Caleta is sheltered from the waves. The main water sports are windsurfing, diving and snorkelling. Ourwatersports page has more details about watersports on the island.
Fishing
There are always fishermen to be seen all along the coast close to Caleta de Fuste. For more details see the fishing page .
Cycling, Motor Cycling
If you like to get around on two wheels it is possible to hire bikes from a half day upwards. It is also possible to go on a guided tour on a motorcycle , quad bike or on a trike.
