Circo Mundial, World Circus

The Gran Circo Mundial came for the first time to Fuerteventura. It was held at the Recinto Ferial, just south of the new bus station from 26 June to 7 July. The circus is the biggest in Spain.

These are photographs of the event! It was well worth a visit, you must go and see it if it comes again!

Henry the clown was one of the stars of the show with some very funny stunts involving the audience.

Los Medina gave us a show of two motorbike riders inside a large ball, don't those guys ever get dizzy? It seemed quite dangerous.

The Trio Ayala did an amazing high wire performance. Whilst on the high wire one of them jumps over the other one. He tried it twice on the occasion that we were there but both times he missed the wire! He managed to catch the wire in his hands though so he didn't fall. It made the show very exciting I am told that he did manage the jump on another occasion though.

On the animal entertainment Kara-Kawak hypnotised some crocodiles and terrified some of the audience! They were very close by. I was glad not to be sitting too close myself. Catherina y Dominique Gasser gave us some lion taming! Thankfully they put up a cage for that bit! We had performing elephants, horses, sea lion and a very large snake. I don't really approve of animals in a circus, but they seemed to be in good condition.
