The Canary Islands Government today authorized, at the proposal of the Minister of Education and Universities, Soledad Monzón, the multiannual expenditure of 4,990,903 euros for the construction of the new school for Early Childhood and Primary Education (CEIP) El Castillo, which will total 450 school places in Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura.
The future CEIP El Castillo will be built on an area of 3.146,83 square meters and will have 18 educational units: 12 Infant classrooms and 6 Primary classrooms, as well as specific spaces, such as computer rooms, multipurpose, music, as well as as kitchen, library, dining room, gym and changing rooms.
The school will be distributed in three different buildings: a module for Infant Education and its complementary spaces, a two-story building for primary students, administration and common spaces, and a third building for gym and clothing.
The center's project also includes recreational and sports facilities in outdoor spaces: covered sports courts, a wrestling area and differentiated play areas for the Infant and Primary pupils are some of the external infrastructures.
The agreement reached this morning by the regional government includes a bidding budget for the work of 4,990,903 euros, with a forecast of annuities until 2020: 100 thousand euros in 2018, 2,442,451.50 euros in 2019 and 2,448,451, 50 euros in the year 2020. With the approval of this item, the procedure for the bidding of the works begins, which will make it possible to respond to the schooling needs foreseen in the town of Caleta de Fuste, population that presents an important demographic growth from the last years.
