Just been reading "Bay of Secrets" by Rosanna Ley. It's mainly set in Dorset and Barcelona, but also features - significantly - Fuerteventura, especially in the later stages of the book.
It's a good story, with an interesting plot, and well worth reading in its own right.
Most of the Fuerteventura action is set in a fictional village called Ricoroque - this is a thinly disguised El Cotillo, with "the Vaca restaurant in the harbour - with a statue of a blue cow on the roof"; "Le Virgen de Buen Viaje painted in white on the rock"; and "the Calle Muella de Pescadores statue" all mentioned, plus the beaches and the lighthouse.
If you enjoy a good novel, give it a try. See if you can spot two mistakes!

That doesn´t sound that thinly disguised.

The place before El Cotillo when you drive there is called El Roque.
