Well guys,

Somehow we all survived two weeks on the island in absolutely fabulous conditions, warm weather, cold swimming pools and even colder beer.

Stayed at Broncemear Beach and would recommend it to any one with kids. Loads of entertainment and fun things for them to do.

Didn't bump into anyone we knew from (no sitings of a preston or leicester shirts) here but did manage to walk the costal path and devour a couple of cold ones in Villa Pizza whilst discussing Villa and Celtic with Dave. also missing out on happy hour which began just as we left to return to caleta(Was surprised at how quiet Antigua was)

Dined out every night and can honestly say that we did not have a bad meal. Worst service we had, believe it or not, was in Fado Rock, save the best place for the last night of holiday, we thought, food was delicious and loads of it, when it arrived, waited best part of an hour between order and being served, place was busy and we decided to eat inside (bad mistake). waiters buzzing about with continue turn over of tables but missed the fact that we were still awaiting service despite a number of attempts to prompt them. Just as we decided to, pay for our drinks, leave and go elsewhere, the kids meals arrived. Politley advised the staff that we were not impressed got some sort of retort/apology possibly, before being served with our dinner. As I said meal was delicious but service should have been better.

Will definately be back on the island in future and will probably return to Caleta.

Now the hard work of saving for next year begins in earnest.

TBTB

Pleased to hear that you had a good holiday!! :D :D

The weather was good while you were here. 8) You'll never see a Preston shirt in Caleta - it's still missing; and the Leicester ones are still being prepared for the new season!

We've lived here for 6 years now, and have never eaten at Fado Rock. Some people think that it's the best, while others think that it's not all that it's cracked up to be. Our daughter and family ate there when on holiday last year, and they liked it.

Start saving up your pennies and then hopefully you can come back. :D

Cheers Filbert :P :P

suffering now from slight AHD (after holiday depression), Looking at Florida for new years adventure and will def be considering Fuerte for year after, (hopefully by then your car will have been sold :D :D )

Best meal all 9 of us enjoyed was in the restaurant inside at our appartments, Broncemar Beach. Steaks and Kebabs all round, cooked to perfection and as we were to only people in the restaurant we were treated like royalty (which helps). That night and next day we raved about it to the people next to us at the appts and at the pool, that night it was busy and extra staff were drafted in to help cope with the demand.

overall we hold the island with very high regard and having been fortunate enough to visit neighbouring islands, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, we reckon that we will return to Fuerte before we return to the others.

TB.

Filbert or anyone,

can you help us out.

There was a squash / tennis court accross from the Barcelo minigolf. It had a game involving small rackets and a tennis ball, a sort of cross between racketball, tennis & squash. Do you know what the heck it is? Having stood and watched the game in full flow we were unable to understand the scoring process but the game looked great. Any ideas?

Cheers

TB

The game is called Paddle Tennis - if you do a google search, it brings up all the details.

If I don't sell the car, it's not the end of the world as we use it as our second car, and our neighbours use it when they come out to their holiday homes :D
