It does look a mess, and I wasn´t aware that there was a problem with that area. It lways looked OK to me.

Agreed, I thought it was fine especially before they felled all the trees.

Hows it looking now?
Has the work on the actual beach started yet?

They are still working in front of the Happy Center. Only one man working on it on the couple of times I've passed by
The President of the Cabildo has written to the Spanish Costas Dept to find out why the beach renovation hasn't started yet - he says they haven't replied to his phone calls and emails  :(

Yes, silly question
They have started work on street improvements between the Geranios Hotel and the Barcelo.
It looks as if they will soon be starting work on street improvements between the Happy Center and the San Jorge Hotel.

The beach regeneration will take 10 months to complete. Apparently it will be done one half at a time, starting at the southern end. Unless they have had a rethink

They have fenced off the area between the main road and the childrens playground in front of the Dulce de Leche. It has palm trees on at the moment, so perhaps it is being tidied up. A couple of years ago the plan was to make it into a dog park.

Surprised at the amount of works going on at the same time. I bet the restaurants like Trafalgar are none too happy. Trying to access them is a challenge let alone dining with noisy and dusty works ongoing just feet away.

The area in front of the Happy Center re-opend on Friday. The area is still lacking lamposts and a pergola, but at least the bars/restaurants are open fully again now after about 3 months.

I eagerly anticipated your photos on your website Filbert. Noted they had replanted some young trees after they had removed a row of attractive mature trees some 18 months ago? :? All looks clean and smart. Noticed a couple of deceased looking palms on your other photos. Shame :(

Last time we were out there was building noise emanating from within the La Luna complex in the heart of Caleta. Anyone got any news on if they are to be sold or used as rentals?

It still looks the same. I don't know what is happening there. I can't understand why the apartments haven't been fnished off, but the commercial units have always been open.
