At Easter this complex had been completely gutted with big teams of workmen working from 8.00am-6pm. How is it looking?

All the gutting made big piles of rubble. These were being taken away by lorries yesterday. Think the properties are still gutted. A bit like blues fans.

Very good DD :D
Pass on my regards to the proprieter and his good wife the next time you are in Villa Pizza. He said he was coming back to Brum to watch the match so it should be free drinks all round upon his return!

Was shocked to see Las Villas in such a bad state last year. We stayed in the Broncemar Beach at Easter overlooking the complex. They started work at 7.30 am with the pnumatic drills :x .

They have started to refurbish them now - I saw new plaster around the windows when I was on the way to the Atlantico Centre.

Are these apartments going to be private residential or tourist apartments ?

I don't know what they are going to be, but they are doing a lot of work around what was the biggest building in the complex. You can't see this work from the main road, but from the street at the other side you can see that there is a two story building being refurbed and there are foundations being laid for something else.

It seems unlikely that this amount of effort would be put in if they were selling them on privately.

I drove by yesterday, and the refurbished complex is open. It has a new name, which I can't remember. I don't think that the final tidying up has been finished, but it's a big improvement.

Thank's for the update
Are they holiday apartments or are they to be sold as private holiday homes?

I stopped by this afternoon to have a look. It's not all finished yet and therefore not open, but the pool area is very nice and there are sunbeds around it all ready.

It is a holiday complex by the look of it - it's called Cay Beach, Caleta.

Someone was asking about Cay Villas earlier in the year. I managed to track it down to this complex, and there is now a sign confirming it is indeed called that.

I had a nosey today and as Filbert says it is looking good. The gardens need finishing and the area around it is showing signs of the recent building work, but it will be good to have a quality holiday resort up and running instead of the building site it has been for the last few years.

Stayed 1 month in those villas some years ago and it´s a lovely place; near everything and the bungalows are good size.

There is still some wor to be done on the gardens, but it is starting to look good.

File comment: This is not Cay Villas, but the Atlantico Centre. I took it at dusk after I had been to watch Australia at the Cinema. Decent film.

File comment: Cay Villas in Costa Caleta, Fuerteventura. The complex has been refurbished to a high standard and this is the pool area.

Looks really nice :D
Let´s just hope they don´t overprice the place cause there are many reasonable priced comlex like Puerta del Sol that are beeing turned in to private apartments. Just looked at Puerta del Sol; some months ago they asked 120 000€ for 1bed apt and now the price is under 100 000€.
Caleta is actually turning in to small town with mixture of tourists and more and more spanish living there. Economy is down at the moment but it wont last long and during the next boom i believe Caleta will double it´s size.
Some people will like it while the others don´t but anyway it will happen.

Hello Guys,

We have just booked to go here for February with my 4 yr old daughter..hope its suitable .. will post a review for you when we get back. I have emailed caybeach (the company who own/run the aparthotel) but have no reply so if anyone sees anything advertised or happens to be drinking there i would be grateful if you could get updated email contact details for me. I'll bring you some spam or something from uk as a pressie

Is the building work still going on or is it just tidying?? Looks nice and smart. BTW is there supposed to be a carnival/fiesta on in Caleta in feb - we fly out 18th ?

Tx

Looks like a good job. It's in a good spot for the beach and is fairly central to all the places in the town.
