Turicomplex own Caleta Gardens and Caleta Dorada as well.

Peter who owns El Capitan also has the El Tirol bar next to Kings Arms. Peter is not Spanish so El Capitan has never been truly Spanish.

Still think it has a traditional rustic Spanish feel to it (or perhaps it's just me!). The first couple of times we visited Fuerteventura you could sit in El Capitan and view the sea! When we are back here in Blighty we always dream of sitting outside, on their terrace with an ice cold beer or sangria lapping up the sun and watching the world go by. It will be a shame when it goes. It's one of the few bars loved by many and a Caleta landmark.
If I'm not mistaken, Caleta Gardens has a fair number of privately owned apartments so sprucing that up may not be as straightforward as if they owned the entire complex. We stayed there about 5-6 years ago but many of the rooms were very tired and in need of some tlc. We had to move apartments 3 times before we found one half clean and in reasonable decorative order.
It would be good if they can get la Luna apartments up and running. They were smashing inside, fitted out with the highest quality fixtures and fittings (an estate agent had a key when we were looking to buy). Get them all occupied and Caleta would really buzz with life.

Work is carrying on at the new villas on the golf course - La Estancia.

They are due to start the beach regeneration project next month.

On Friday 23rd October at 6pm there is going to be a presentation about the beach regeneration scheme. All business people, hoteliers and residents are invited to the Frasquita restaurant at 6pm to hear about the technical aspects of the project; and then everyone will go around to the harbour. All the top people involved will be present - the President of the Cabildo, the Mayor and representatives from a whole range of different Depts.
