The birds on Fuerteventura are different to those that you would find back home. These photographs are of some of the birds I have seen since September 2004. For a birdwatching on Fuerteventura see Andy's Birdwatching report, and another including Hubara Bustard and Egyptian Vultures report
These ptographs are of some of the birds that can be seen on Fuerteventura. It is possible to take passable photographs with a digital camera. Some were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 5000, and others with a Panasonic DMC-F27. The Nikon was not directly replaced and the Panasonic does have image stabilisation, which reduces camera shake problems.
This young Kestrel was in Morro Jable. I heard its parent making a fuss and took five or six pictures from about 30 feet. It is disappointing that they were slightly out of focus.
A great grey shrike. These are a common species on Fuerteventura. This one was singing away outside Cocosol.
A pigeon posing for the camera.

These two photographs of trumpeter finches were taken on the path between Nuevo Horizonte and Caleta de Fuste. They tag along when people are feeding the "chipmunks"
