Registration was outside the Bahia Real hotel. There were about 400 participants, including representatives from all the islands, and 27 professionals.

Some people had their photos taken with the famous cyclists, and others with their family and friends.
Gerry and Petra from Caleta Paraiso took part, and the president of the Cabildo, Mario Cabrera attended in an unofficial capacity as a citizen supporting the cause.
The youngsters started at the front of the 400 or so riders, and evrybody set off south from Corralejo
At this point everybody was happy, smiling and not the least bit tired.
The cyclists headed towards the tres islas hotels, and then after regrouping at the La Caldereta roundabout the "mountain stage" began.
The cyclists who were able rode over, some with a helping hand. A guagua and truck were provided for the fun riders, so there is no excuse not to take part.

There was a prize for the first non professional to complete this stage, but not everyone was racing.
The cyclists became strung out and some reached the top of the climb alone.
Even the professionals had a rest at the Casa de Coronels..
where photos were taken...
including the whole group.
The house has recently been refurbished.
Some had a look inside.
Then it was back to Corralejo
with your favourite group.
Down to the square
for all the boys, girls
and grown ups.
Then it rained.
