The Fuerteventura Feaga 2008 closed yesterday, Sunday the 20th April.
The event was held over four days, and is primarily an agricultural fair although if you are not a farmer there is much to entertain you during your visit. There are awards for the best cheese and wines (you may get to sample some). There are prizes too for the best hunting dogs, and other livestock.
My favourite event as always is the horseraces. This year there was a particularly grumpy grey horse that was kicking the walls of its truck.
It continued being jumpy to the start of the race when it threw its jockey, and did a runner the wrong way around the track. The jockey didn't seem too badly hurt but was taken to Fuerteventura hospital with some kind of leg injury.
The other races went smoothly, and were followed by donkey races. These were quite entertaining as donkeys don't seem to have the inclination to er move!
So a good day out in the fabulous sunshine. There are lots of other things to see so look at the Feaga page and the Feaga 2006 for more information

There are lots more events and fiestas that have happened on Fuerteventura this year.
