After two 1 - 0 victories in the first two games of the season UD Fuerteventura welcomed Alcorcon, a team from Madrid that had lost both their opening games.

Fuerteventura got off to a lively start and tested the visiting keeper from range several times in the opening quarter of an hour. However on 15 minutes and innocuous looking ball was collected by Novoa and he played it out to Eloy, who slipped and allowed David Sanz to have a snap shot at an empty goal from 25 yards. Fortunately for the home side his shot was never on target and went wide of the right hand post.

The only goal of the game came on 30 minutes when the away side were robbed of the ball in midfield, allowing Moises to progress down Fuerteventura's left wing before whipping in a cross that eluded the last line of defence and the keeper to find Maciot free on the back post. He made no mistake and stroked the ball into an unguarded net from three yards out.

Fuerteventura then played their best football of the match, as the away team's heads dropped a little, but were unable to extend their lead before half time. After the break the away side had been reinvigorated, and the game closed up a little. There chances that were created resulted in shots from distance, with Fuerteventura's efforts being much closer to the mark.

In the latter stages Alcorcon tried to make use of their height advantage from dead ball situations and Novoa had to save a header that was just under the bar.

With time up Alcorcon finally beat the keeper with a header from a corner. Soto was well placed on the line and as he jumped to head the ball he kept it out with his hand, resulting in a penalty and the inevitable red card.

The responsibility for the kick was given to Juanape who struck the ball to the keepers left only to see him parry, and then save the attempt from the rebound.

The result represents a well-earned win that leaves Fuerteventura sitting at the top of the table.
