Union Antigua v Castillo.22nd September 2007 Football on Fuerteventura

Union Antigua are in the Tercera Division, third division, and were playing the league leaders Castillo CD from Gran Canaria.

The ayuntamiento put of a free bus that left from El Capitan's bar opposite the Barcello Hotel at 4.30 to go to the stadium for the kick off at 5pm.

Union Antigua worked hard in the first half and managed to get through the first half unscathed against the league leaders. Both sides having had several chances to score.

However in the second half Jaime managed to get the only goal of the game for Castillo in the 77th minute.

There were several booking in the game and several injuries. One of the worst being to the goal keeper who made several fine saves.

He was ok though after a few minutes recovery time.

The stadium has a running track around it and has the usual bar that you can get snacks from. It is hoped that the free bus will run for the next few home games.
