Birds in Fuerteventura

For the last few days around Caleta there have been several sightings of these very pretty birds, which are Merops apiaster, or European bee eater. At the moment are migrating from Sub Saharan Africa over the Streights of Gibraltar.

They are very difficult to photograph as they catch their food whilst on the wing and therefore have to be fast flyers!
