The investment will rise to €235,000 and the ambulances will be operating in 45 days, according to the contract.
The Cabildo has assigned 235,000 euros for the purchase of four ambulances destined to equip the civil protection services of the town halls of Fuerteventura.
The contract to supply the ambulances was awarded to "Eurocarrocerías peninsulares SL", as its bid was assessed as having the most favourable characteristics.
After the signing of the contract, which took place this morning at a meeting under the presidency of Domingo Fuentes, the company has 45 days to deliver the vehicles to Fuerteventura, completely equipped to the technical specifications included in their bid.
Tha ambulances will be delivered to the municipalities of Tuineje, La Oliva, Puerto del Rosario y Pájara, as these are the municipalities where the size of the population and the accident ratios indicate they would be best used. This method of determining where they are to be used is in line with the "Plan Insular de Emergencias".
The four vehicles are Volkswagen LT 150CV, completely equipped as ambulances, including defibrillators, stretchers, basic vital backup, and are capable of being converted into medical units, should the Cabildo deem this necessary
