40 attended this weekend's free kitesurfing course

A total of 40 young people attended this weekend at El Cotillo, to participate in the beginners kitesurfing course, which was organized by the Education of the Cabildo, as part of the 'Activate' leisure program.

The course, held at Stone Beach (La Oliva), was taught by instructors belonging to the Association of Surfing Professionals of La Oliva, and was attended by young people between 16 and 30 came from different parts of the island .

Attendees were divided into two groups, half on Saturday and half on Sunday to participate in an introductory session to the sport which focused mainly on teaching the assembly and tuning of all equipment, and management sailing on land as a first essential step subsequent to navigate at sea.

Please note the importance given by the responsible course to teach the main security measures associated with the sport, focusing primarily on how to proceed without endangering thier own safety, or that of the rest of kite surfers or users of the beach .

Activate is a free program, aimed at young people living in Fuerteventura between 16 and 30 years, developing a monthly start-up activity or recreational sports such as diving, kite surfing, karting, dance, golf, etc..
