New Bus Service

The Department of Transportations and Communications have said there will be a new bus service to serve the municipality of Tuineje.

The service will begin on December 12th, with the intention that tourists arriving in the port of Puerto del Rosario can be transported to the Tuineje region, but in particular to Gran Tarajal. The timetable has not been finalised but it is likely that the bus will depart from Puerto Del Rosario at 8.30 am with a return in the afternoon.

The bus will start at the bus stop close to the port, by the Tourist Board Office and the Insular School of Music. It will also stop at the Hospital of Fuerteventura, Caleta, the Atlantico Shopping Centre, and in Tiquital.

The object is to bring the tourists to the region of Tuineje, as the area has a lot to offer, but under the present transportation services there is no time for the passengers from visiting cruise ships to travel by bus to the region. It is hoped that businesses in the area will benefit from this as the Cabildo is keen to promote this area; in particular Gran Tarajal, with its beautiful beach.

It is also hoped that this service will also benefit those living in the municipality of Tuineje.
