The Xuntanza de Cocina Galega SL and the ayuntamiento of Antigua have organised, between the 5th and 10th of December a gastronomic event with the best products of Galicia. Mussels, spider crabs, octopus nécoras (small edible crabs), crayfish, shrimp, lobster, pie or rice are some of the gems that can be consumed.
A large tent has been installed at the Fuentita roundabout where the residents and tourists of Antigua and Fuerteventura in general will be able to find expamples of the Galician culture and be able to enjoy its gastronomy. There will be a complete menu, of typical Galician food for sale,at a reasonable prices, made with products of the highest quality which have been brought directly from Galicia for the occasion.
The menu will be available between 2.30 and 4 in the afternoon, and for dining between 7.30 and midnight. During this time visitors will be able to sample all the dishes on the menu and also be able to obtain examples to take away from the Galician products shop, where cheeses from many places will be available along with Galician honey, tarta de Santiago, ham with turnip tops and well known Galician liquers of the hightest quality.
In the products shop, as well as the rest of the fair, personel will be on hand to explain anything the public want to know about the culture and gastronomy of Galicia.
Besides this, a little after the fair closes at around midnight, the clients will have the opportunity to participate in the traditional ceremony involving hot Galician punch.
