The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has started publishing a new magazine "Fuerteventura activa"

The magazine will be published several times a year. In it you will find the eventkalender of all the departments of the Cabildo.

The Cabildo of Fuertventura recently started publishing a new magazine called "Fuerteventura Activa, la Agenda del Cabildo de Fuerteventura". Its aim is to inform tourists und citizens about cultural events, activities in the cultural centres and museums and about the financial support that is available for students and other citizens.

The first issue is available now and in it is the eventkalender for December 2007 and January 2008 of the cultural department, the department of Education and Youth, the joined cultural centres, the islands museums and the environmental department. Also in this first issue a list of all the cultural events organized by the Ayuntamiento.

The cultural department, managed by Genara Ruiz, initiated this new magazine. Their purpose is to constantly improve the magazine and to garantee that Fuerteventura has a free and accessable magazine with all important information for citizins. This kind of public service is considered to be among the most important tasks of an institution like the Cabildo of Fuerteventura.

To start with, 5.000 issues will be distributed among cultural centres, public service offices, the ayuntamientos and several businesses on the island. Long term goal is to publish the magazine once a month.

A few of the subjects that can be found in the first issue:

Department of culture and heritage: cultural eventkalender, exhibition Juan Ismael and engravings of the Barranco Azul or del Cavadero. Education and Youth: Eventkalender, the Christmas concerts of the school of music. Cultural centres and Museums: The joined museums of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura Environmental department: Walkingroutes in the country (Trekking: the green traces of Fuerteventura).

Also a fixed item in the magazine are the courses that the Cabildo offers, announcements of the Cabildo and information about scholarships and other financial support for citizens.
