Cultural Centre for Corralejo

A new cultural centre, situated in Corralejo, will soon be fully functional, and will completely transform cultural life in the town. The centre is situated in the Southeastern part of the Baku leisure park, overlooking Huriamen Street.

The facilities within the centre provide a total of 2,295.21 square meters of space, with an exhibition hall, (440, 79 square meters) library and offices (616.93 square meters) and an audience or assembly hall (1,237.49 square meters) seating 420. The centre will also provide an arena for the presentation of films and plays.

"It is important to have this type of quality facility", said the councillor of Culture, Miguel Angel Vera. The mayoress, Claudina Moral explained that "The centre is going to provide a very important focus for all the cultural activity in the municipality. Now we can solicit theater companies of dance and music etc. to come, because now we have a hall with excelent conditions".

The City council anticipates that the facilities will soon be fully functional, and that spectacles that rotate around the Canary Islands, and currently only visit Puerto del Rosario and Gran Tarajal on Fuerteventura, will now have a third venue in Corralejo.
