Road Danger in Corralejo

Have you ever wondered why there are signs warning you about the sand in the road on the road to Corralejo?

The road to Corralejo from Puerto has signs warning about the dangers of sand in the road but mainly it is just a little sand blowing over to the beach.

At the moment though the wind is from the South East and this means that sand is blowing the other way. This has the effect of the sand being quite deep on the road and as you aren't expecting it to be a problem you don't tend to slow down! there were sevveral patches of sand in the road yesterday.

Actually though you can't steer the car through it properly, you slide into the track of the previous vehicle. So take a little more care until the wind shifts to its normal direction in a few days.

There was a snow plough on the road shifting it!
