Dead cow in sea in Costa Antigua

Tourists and locals were surprised to see the gruesome sight of the body of a drowned cow floating in the sea between Costa Antigua and Caleta yesterday.

The cow was probably of African origin, as it had a hump on its back. It could have fallen into the sea from a boat during transportation, or may have been washed off the African shores.

The local police attended, but it is believed that the body was washed back into the sea. It would have taken a crane to get the body out of the water.

It was reported in the newspaper Canarias 7 that several dead cows and one decapitated bull have turned up in La Graciosa a small island north of Lanzarote. No one is quite sure where the animals came from, but one wild theory suggests that they are some sort of ritual took place.
