A Charity Walk is being held on Saturday 10th April starting from 3 p.m. from the Cultural Centre, Triquivijate.

A lady called Anna, who lives in the village, as part of her 70th birthday celebrations, has initiated it.

Anna asked her friends, no presents but donations to OKAPI and Twinkle Trust. As a result I “volunteered” to organise and get publicity for the walk. Anna has adopted 3 dogs from OKAPI and looks after many feral cats that live on her land.

I had a very good meeting with Gustavo, the Mayor of Antigua, (he is a qualified Vet) and he gave his support and permission for the walk with helpful advice on a change of route. He also offered help from the local police if we need it on the day for safety reasons.

We have had a very helpful response from the Island press and radio stations (English and German) and hope, as many people who live here or are on holiday will join the walk of about 2 kilometres. Plus of course give generously.
