This year sees the 21st anniversary of the Feaga, the largest agriculatual show on Fuerteventura, held at Pozo Negro in Antigua. As usual the number of visitors is expected increase, and this year, you can take the tourist train from the car park to the entrance, rather than the camels that took visitors at the Feaga 2005. The Cabildo laid on the minitrain, which normally runs in Caleta de Fuste, for the benefit of those who have mobility problems.
On the first day of the exhibition schoolchildren from all over the island came to look around. Many of them were wearing traditional dress, and looked very smart. One of the most popular stalls for these children was the pet shop. Most of them seemed to come away with a bird, a mouse a turtle or a fish, from the pet shop. This made the pet stall the busiest stall on the first morning.

In another part of the exhibition you there were many of the animals farmed on Fuerteventura. There were donkeys, camels, cattle, sheep, fowl and goats. Prizes are given out for the best. There is a competition for the goats that produce the best milk. The animals are a major part of the show, and they are on show so that visitors can compare them, though I have no idea what makes one donkey better than another. The animals are fed and watered regularly.

Another building houses stands which represent the various Ayuntamientos of Fuerteventura and some of the other Canary islands. You can taste the various regional products that are special to each region, and this morning Wine and cheese were the main offerings. In another section stallholders were selling their produce, such as buscuits and craft products. The crafts are related to agriculture and production of natural products such as candles.

As you would expect at aan agricultural show there is a lot of agricultural equipment such as tractors being exhibited. Besides this Fuerteventura's vintage cars (both of them!?), works of art and various garden ornaments are for sale.
Sunday at 11am, there is some horse racing which I found very entertaining last year. Overall this is a very entertaining and interesting event, that is well worth a visit.
