Cabildo continues to subsidise bus services

El Cabildo has paid 47.313 euro to Tiadhe, the bus company on Fuerteventura for the months May to August, so the they can continue to provide a 20% reduction of the fare to those with Bonobus tickets.

During that time 106,000 users have benefited from the reduction, out of a total of 500,000 passengers. Pillar Rodriguez, a local counsellor said "the bonds not only represent a saving for the pocket of those who use them, it also contributes to the improvement of the service, since reduces the time taken in carrying out the payment, increasing the speed of the service".

Pillar adds, "we have also increased the number of buses, improved or installed shelters at the stops, and we are completing the construction of a new bus station in Puerto del Rosario, besides having in mind the new bus stations of Morro Jable and Gran Tarajal".

The tickets can be purchased from the small kiosk close to the current bus station or on some buses and the cost is 12 euro.
