The Cabildo is to invest 1.3 million euro to improve the drainage of water in the Fabelo region of Puerto del Rosario. Creating a conduit for the water from this area will prevent flooding in the lower parts of Puerto del Rosario. The main drainage will be in la calle Vascongadas, with secondary ones in las calles Extremadura, Gran Canaria, Aragón,Tenerife, Cataluña, María Estrada, Tenesor, Ramón y Cajal, y La Gavia, sending the water to a pumping station to be built near the roundabout on la calle Tenesor and then on to the sewage plant at Risco Prieto. There will be some damage to pavements due to the work, but repairs will be carried out after the work is completed. There are also plans to develop the water service in Puerto so that should the water need to be turned off due, for example, to damaged pipes there will be another branch of water available.
