The second batch of eggs from the three loggerhead turtle nests that were placed on Cofete beach as part of a project to reintroduce loggerhead turtles to Fuerteventura have hatched producing over 100 young turtles so far.
The municipality of La Oliva turned out in force yesterday (26th November 2006) as King Don Juan Carlos of Spain and Doña Sofía arrived in Fuerteventura.
The port and sea front in Puerto Del Rosario are in the process of being transformed as part of an ambitious plan to improve the area in the interest of attracting more tourists to the islands capital, as well as improving the environment in the area of the new Palacio de Formations y Congresos at Loz Pozos.
The tourist sector on Fuerteventura is on line to end the year not only with positive results but with the greatest percentage increase in visitors amongst all the Canary Islands.
