Fuerteventura children proclaim their rights and obligations for world children's day

The council organized a street parade with the participation of 200 schools, and reading a manifesto for children to mark the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of Children

 
The Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Consumer, Housing and Immigration council from the area of Children and in collaboration with the Municipality of Puerto del Rosario and the Insular Direction of Education, taking place this morning in the capital of Fuerteventura the commemoration World Day for Children.

 

Today's event also served to mark the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of Children, counting with the participation of 200 students from centre of each of the municipalities of the island (the CEIP El Cardon , Las Playitas, Francisca Perez, Gumersindo Martel, CEIP Corralejo II and CEO Puerto Cabras).

 

The first event was a parade around the main streets of the capital of Fuerteventura, with papahuevos, snakes, human drummers and a balloon race, before carrying out the reading of the manifesto of children in Wrestling Terrero Puerto del Rosario.

 

Councilor Social Affairs of the Cabildo, Victor Alonso-institutional who read the manifesto, his counterpart at City Hall, Alexis Soler, and the island of Education director, Nicolas Gutierrez attended the reading of the child revealed by six students, one for each of the participating schools:

 

All children produced by groups of rights and obligations that correspond to consider their status as children, which proved the following statement:

 

Children of Fuerteventura want to highlight on this day the right to education, learning, and the obligation of children to attend school.

 

The right to live in a house and care for her.

 

Right to have a family to look after us and protect us, and the obligation to help at home and respect your elders.

 

It is very important to care for our island to preserve it and that is a nice and healthy.

 

That all children respect each other regardless of the place from which they come.

 

We want this day remains important and remember that all children's rights, and we continue to work everyone, every day of the year so that children are happy. Hasta la Vista.
