97% of tourists visiting the island recommend it as a holiday destination

The report of the Tourist Satisfaction Index (TWI) for the summer reflects a growing trend in the rate of recommendation of Fuerteventura as a holiday destination. 97.4% of visitors would recommend the island for a holiday, which means an improvement of 2 and 5 points respectively compared to the results of the two previous summers.

 
The Tourism Council of Fuerteventura, promotion body under the Island Council, made this study twice a year during the two seasons of summer and winter tourism. The goal of IST is developing a working tool that enables institutions, groups and tourism businesses to know the opinions and judgments that tourists have on the fate majorero.

 

The president of the Cabildo, Mario Cabrera, the Minister of Tourism of the Cabildo, Agueda Montelongo, and Francisco Armas as SAO representative, company to conduct the IST, given today released the results of the report to the media and representatives of institutions, associations and business representatives related to island tourism.

 

"The results of Tourist Satisfaction Index always marked an important moment of the year because we can learn what aspects we should improve to better serve our customers, as well as identify what measures have been more effective among those taken to meet the demands of tourists who visit us. "

 

In recent editions of the study has attempted to incorporate the private sector proposals, adding to the polls their suggestions and recommendations. As a result, surveys this summer included the question of why tourists choose to spend their holidays Fuerteventura, what responses were as follows:

 

--        The environmental aspects of the Island (29%): Beaches, Weather.

--          The calm, relax, rest and security associated with the destination (28%),

--          Value for money (13.5%),

--         Possibility of family vacations (12%).

 

Another point that was stressed the counselor has the broad acceptance of German tourists in general on the various aspects of tourism in Fuerteventura. "The visitor from Germany is certainly the most faithful to the destination, as evidenced by the fact that the 48.5% already visited us before (at an average of 33%). In addition, its retention rate is 94.2%, compared to an average of 92%, and also recommend the destination to 98.9% of them "(97.4 average and 97.8 in the UK).

 

The surveys resulted in the report were conducted at the request of the council by the company ODS Fuerteventura Airport, between 31 July and 9 August inclusive. The universe of the sample was of 1,292 passengers surveyed.

 

Profile of respondents:

 

Age: 36 years (winter 44)

Overnights: 9 nights (German 11)

Mode: on partners and children 42.3% (summer 19.5%), in pairs 35.8% (summer 54.8%), friends 7.3%

Stay: 4-5 stars

Rules: "all inclusive"

 

Rating destination

 

The IST offers tourists the opportunity to comment surveyed about 27 total tourist qualities, divided into four basic categories. This summer the valuation of the tourists were as follows:

 

Accommodation - 71.15.

Commercial Offer and complementary - 62.55.

Public Service and Infrastructure - 64.84.

Environmental Setting - 74.99.

 

Again, the best rated tourist qualities referred to the environment, both being the first State of the beaches (84.05), the cleaning of beaches (81.47) or the Environmental Quality (73.69) .

 

Notice also, in the section on accommodation, convenience and comfort of accommodation (73.13) and quality of facilities (72.66). At the other extreme, the lowest ratings were Cutural (49.20), the commercial (58.22) and the provision of leisure and free time (58.26).

 

Councilor Cabildo Tourism Agueda Montelongo, assessed that the final destination, but is situated three points below that obtained in the summer of 2008 (68.20 versus 71.30), "the trend is upward in the computation warming of the past years except 2008, which, as we know, was one of the best exercises that have lived tour in Fuerteventura.

 

Objectives of the IST:

 

--           Studying tourist satisfaction in 4 different sizes:

--           Service accommodation

--           Commercial Offer and complementary

--           Public services and infrastructure,

--           The environmental situation.

--           Subjects in the choice of Fuerteventura as a tourist destination.

--           Identify the competing destinations, and reasons for choice of Fuerteventura in front of others.

--           Studying knowledge of zoning Fuerteventura tourist visiting the island

--           Studying the visibility and access to complementary and leisure offer.

 

 

Tourist Loyalty

 

 33% have come before (30.5% in summer 08 and 41.3% in winter). / Germany-> 48.5%

92% is the retention rate (90.4% in summer 08 and 73.1% in summer 07). / Germany-> 94.2%

  97.4% is the rate of recommendation (95.3% in summer 08 and 90.8% in summer 07) / Germany,> 98.9%, RRUU-> 97.8%
