Caleta Fiesta 6-14th October 2007.

Yesterday the Fiesta in Honor of Ntra. Sra. de la Pena del Mar began in Caleta de Fuste. In there evening we had a competition to find the Chica 21. This is a regional beauty competition with the winner going on to a national competition. It was held in the tent opposite the Barcelo Hotel.

There was a couple displaying some very fine dancing techniques and two bored looking angels. The event was followed by music going on until the early hours. These are photographs of the event.

You can see posters all over town publicising the fiesta, with lots of music, sporting and other events being held.

Most evenings will have a musical event but on the 13th in the tent by the Barcelo Hotel there will be a party night with the groups Las Malas Companias, Lufuky Fundation and Heartbeat. It will begin at 8pm and close at 4am for those of you able to party till then!

Between the 8-11th there will be a football competition, on the 12th a fishing competition.

On the 13th there will be a noisy display of fireworks on the beach at midnight.

At 10am on the 14th there will be a religious procession around Caleta and at 1pm some traditional Canarian music.
