Fuerteventura cycling team win team event in the Tour of Britain Cycling 2007

A team was entered in this years Tour of Britain Cycling race. The team was formed as a means of promoting tourism to Fuerteventura.

The team were very sucessful and at stage 4 Rotherham - Bradford, Adrian Palomares won this stage, which put him into the yellow yersey as overall race leader.

After stage 5 Liverpool to Kendal Fuerteventura were still top overall, but lost out on the last stage. They did however win the overall team event, which is based on top three riders aggregate time.

After the 6th and final stage Palomares lost out as overall race winner to Romain Feillu, (Agritubel) by fractions of a second.

The race was given a fair amount of media coverage, including in a two hour TV program on the BBC, so the the team were also successful in their aim of publicising the island to a wide audience.
