You want to know Fuerteventura's weather for the five days shown below? The weather varies on all the Canary Islands. For example, the north of Tenerife is not generally as warm or sunny as the south. Fuerteventura is no different, as each part has its own microclimate that depends on its orientation and how the local geographical features are arranged. This means the weather in Corralejo will generally be different to that in Costa Caleta, which will not be the same as in the Jandia resorts of Costa Calma and Morro Jable. The predictions will be correct somewhere on the island, but it is almost impossible to make an accurate weather forecast for any particular place on the island.

Tidal Information
The state of the tide is an important consideration for many people on Fuerteventura. The dedicated anglers on the island tell us that the best conditions are a couple of hours either side of high or low tide, and the appearance of many beaches changes considerably as the tide flows and ebbs; important if you want to photograph them in their best state. The wind on Fuerteventura
You may have noticed that the wind on Fuerteventura tends to blow predominantly from the North North East. This is because of Fuerteventura's location within the region where the trade winds blow. In the northern hemisphere these winds blow from the northeast and dominate the weather in the latitudes above the equator.
The Trade Winds
The trade winds are a consequence of convection currents within the earth's atmosphere as a whole. The warm air rises above the equator and falls away from after it has cooled. If you want to know more do a search for Hadley cells.
Convection Currents
On a more local scale sea breezes are set up whenever there is a difference in temperature between the sea and the land. During the hotter parts of the day, the land becomes warmer than the sea, and this causes the air above the land to rise. The flow of cooler air towards the land from the sea forms a sea breeze that is more pronounced on hotter days. When the sea is warmer than the land, convection currents cause an offshore breeze. These offshore breezes suit the island's surfers, and as offshore winds are more likely early morning and late evening, that is when the best surf is produced.
Interestingly the high altitude winds come off the coast of Africa, south of Fuerteventura and blow northward. This seems to be an effect caused by the Atlas mountains. Further investigation is required to find out what effect this has.
