Giniginamar is a very attractive village set at the end of the valley of Giniginamar. The photograph was taken from the top of the hill at the western end of the south facing bay. There are a couple of bars that serve food in the village, and as you would expect in a small fishing village, fish is a particular speciality.
Also on the main street there is a quite modern style church of Nuestra Snra del Carmen, built in 1992, which has a lovely interior and modern stain glass windows. When we visited the church doors were being painted, we think because the fiesta of Nuestra Senora del Carmen, which is held on July 16th, the day after we visited.
There is a large beach area here, however the beach consists of pebbles rather than sand making it a pleasant experience for those not wanting to deposit large amounts of sand in their homes on returning from the beach!. The bathing apears to be quite safe, with a gentle slope out to the sea. Giniginamar bay is a protected zone because of its high biological interest.
The village also has a multiple sports court.
Sports area.
