Windsurfing Kiteboarding World Cup 2006 Fuerteventura photographs from day 3

These are photographs of the slalom event in which competitors race at speed to several points before crossing the finishing line. Tactics are involved as to starting position. The starting line is wide enough for the choice of position on the start line to influence the start a competitor gets in the race. Some competitors routinely chose a downwind downwind option, while others vary their start position based on an assessment of the current conditions. Some days the racing is delayed as the rules say that there must be a minimum wind speed of 7 knots for the race to start and must be abandoned if the speed drops below 7 knots for more than 20 seconds.
