Motocross on Fuerteventura

The fifth of the six annual motocross events took place Puerto del Rosario on Sunday 3rd June.

The races make an impressive spectacle due to the dusty ground of the track as you watch the cycles fly through the air almost over the head of this safety guy. There are about 5 races in each competition and six competitions each year. The bikes are 125 cc.The final event of this season is to be held in Antigua on July 14th. Expect a lot of spectators and a lot of dust!

On the 24th April 2005, just outside Puerto del Rosario, the 9th Annual Motocross competition was held. There were a couple of hundred people watching races at a variety of different levels. It was exciting to watch, with bikes flying through the air. The event's location on the outskirts of Puerto del Rosario was fairly easy to find, as once the races were underway there was a large amount of noise and dust.
