This year the festival had a Columbian flavour, with top Columbian rock group Los Aterciopelados (the Velvety Ones).

Concha Buika was born in Palma de Mallorca in 1972, a singer who uses a variety of musical styles - jazz, boleros, flamenco, funk.
La Mala Rodriguez is a Spanish hip hop singer, influenced by flamenco. Some of her lyrics having a feminist leaning and others about social issues. She was born in Cadiz, and her music has featured in the sountracks of several spanish films.
with La Troba Kung Fu, Joan Garriga, who was previously with Ojos de Brujo, create music to suit a variety of musical tastes,influenced by Catalan cumbia, dub, rumba, vallenato and reggae
Fundacion Tony Manero, take their name from the character Tony Manero, the central character of the film Saturday Night Fever. Led by singers Sex Machine and Miguelito Superstar, they began by performing 1970s classic club and dance hits in Barcelona. Now their music is influenced by dance music house, breakbeat, drum'n'bass and latin sounds of mambo-funk and latin-funk.
Vanexxa has a punky style, both mysterious and fragile and is one of the sensations of the Spanish music scene.
Aterciopelados, the highlight of the festival, hail from Columbia and made their musical debut in 1993.Their style being flamenco combined with Colombian folk music. Andrea Echeverri plays acoustic guitar and is lead siinger while Héctor Buitrago plays bass guitar.

Fuertemusica gets bigger and better each year. Bands performing in 2006 were
Tabajoste , Radio Tarifa , Ojos de Brujo , Ed Motta , Aristides Moreno , and Muchachito Bombo Infierno .
Whilst in 2005 Link , Son de La Frontera , Haze , Elefantes Los Coquillos , Mastretta, Carmen Paris , and Cafe Tacuba performed.
