Nuevo Horizonte/Costa Antigua Fuerteventura
Nuevo Horizonte is otherwise known as Costa Antigua is situated on the east coast of Fuerteventura, close to Caleta de Fuste , and only a short distance from Fuerteventura airport . The area was originally developed with tourism in mind, Caleta Paraiso and Cocosol being two of the more established complexes. The hotels that are in Costa Antigua,are the Costa Tropical, Castillo de Elba Aparthotel and Aparthotel Horizonte Bay .
The visitors that appreciate Nuevo Horizonte most are those that are looking for a relaxing break, a short distance away from the more touristy town of Caleta. However, these days Nuevo Horizonte is fast becoming the place to be!
Situated across the road from the Caleta Paraiso complex is Stoners, the Volveretta, a Spanish restaurant where you can also buy fresh bread and pastries, and The Crazy Goat Bar .
Under the Costa Tropical Aparthotel, opposite the Jardin Horizonte complex ,you can find Oopsydebsys cafe bar, where you can get marvelous home made cakes, pies and pastries. In the Antigua Bay complex there is Mustang Sallys ,an Irish/American bar , where you can get good food, sports and live entertainment. You can also find a quality restaurant called Rumours, The Jinxing Chinese restaurant, Diamonds , an entertainment bar and a small supermarket selling British products called Stop n Shop. You wil lalso find Villa Pizza , where you can enjoy a drink while watching sports.
There has been a lot of development going on in the area but this is coming to an end with villas being near to completion.
If you want to get to Caleta there is an attractive coastal walk that is populated by amusing chipmunks. T his walkway has lighting and which makes walking into or out of Costa Caleta after sundown a reasonable option. For those of you that regard walking as something not to be done on holiday, Caleta can also be reached by taxi. The fare is around 3.50 euros. You may also take the free bus courtesy of the Elba hotel.
This leaves the Castillo Elba at 10.20,11.20,12.20,15.20,17.20,18.20 and 20.20, and arrives at the Atlantico Shopping Centre 15 minutes later, after going to the Hotel Sara. The bus leaves the Atlantico at 10.55, 11.55, 14.55, 16.55, 17.55 and 19.55, and arrives in Nuevo Horizonte 20 minutes later, via the other Elba hotels in Caleta.
