Puerto del Rosario, Fiestas del Rosario 2008

The fiesta of Puerto del Rosario have begun, and there is a great deal of free entertainment to be seen on and around the streets of Puerto del Rosario.

On the 21st of September Cinco in Clave perform, on the 22nd Tajaboste, both are typical Canarian music concerts. The next evening you can see street theatre with Grupo los Molinos and on Wednesday another concert by Vocal 7. On each of those nights there are other entertainments and things for the children.

The Sunnyfuerteventura.com team went to see the aerial spectacular and the clown that entertained on Thursday 25th.

The first was a theatrical production, by Voala. This involved a huge crane, with the performers being hoisted up high into the air above the spectators. There was also some amazing vocals too which accompanied the theatre. The men were dressed formally in suits and the women in cami knickers, bras and hold up stockings! I am not sure if there was some significance in this or if it was just deemed more entertaining! The women did have dresses on later as you can see. anyway it was a very interesting thing to watch as we hadn't seen anything like it before.

This was followed by the funniest performance I have seen in ages by Mario, the Queen of the circus.

He was a Freddy Mercury look alike and performed to the music of Queen. He entertained us with some juggling tricks which were excellent but also took a woman from the audience and pedalled a unicycle with her on his shoulders! It terrified the crowd and the lady herself.

Even funnier though was when he got her husband out of the audience and did a duel fight with bananas. Ok you have to see it to believe how funny that was!

Friday has an aerial circus followed by music and a dance at 12.30.
