The date of the main autumn festival in Puerto del Rosario's is October the 7th, but the festivities begin a couple of weeks before. The Fiesta is in honour of Nuestra Senora del Rosario, and they have been celebrated every year since the parish was created in 1905.

Apart from mass and prayers conferences are presented on topics such as the origins and history of the parish, challenges facing the church and poverty and social exclusion. There was also a fair, held at the fairground, which is close to the bus station. This fair goes on until about 5 am for 2 weeks.

During the 2 weeks prior to the main fiesta day there are lots of events, mainly in the evenings and at the weekends, such as sporting, music and singing events. Popular ents are swimming, football, basketball, Canarian Wrestling and bowls (Bola Canaria). These take place at various venues, although the larger events are on the stage at the Recinto Ferial near the bus station. Here there are lots of snack bars and the fairground rides. The biggest night is on October 6th when there is an all night open air party(called a Verbena) featuring groups, both traditional and modern, and DJ´s.

On the 7th October, after the midday Celebration of the Eucarist, there is a procession, where the Venerated Image of the Virgin is carried around the streets of Puerto del Rosario.

After the parade, in the square behind the church, food is available for those taking part, a lovely selection of paella, Canarian potatoes, tortilla etc.

There is music and dancing, and the traditional puppets also do their dancing. Lots of people were enjoying food and drink with family and friends.

The Puerto del Rosario car rally also takes place at this time. After the Fiesta is over, there is a Romeria (a religious walk by people in traditional clothes) to the next village of Puerto Lajas, which marks the start of their Fiesta. This goes on until October 12, which is a public holiday for Spanish National Day.
