Triquivijate, known to the British as Tricky, because it is difficult to pronounce and spell, is 11 km from Caleta off the road to Antigua.
It has grown from what used to be a farming village into a more diverse community. You can see evidenco of its farming origins from the cactus plantation near the roundabout and of the roundabout itself which is based on pitchforks.

It is similar to Lajares in that it is a widespread village which is popular with a lot of expats from different countries. There are a few luxury properties, some traditional ones and some smaller properties.
There are several bars and restaurants along the main road through the village, a shop, ferreteria etc.
There is a cultural centre , with hopscotch in case you are nostalgic for your childhood (or maybe its for the children) which offers a range of activities, and next to it is the chapel.

There is a horse riding and excursion centre with a paddock with horses and as you drive out of the village there is pond which is a good birdwatching site. Sadly the pond was empty of water when we went, but the reeds were quite visible. After heavy rain it does fill up.
