Photographs from the Battle of Tamasite re-encactment, Gran Tarajal, Fuerteventura.

In 1740 the English decided to invade Fuerteventura, but they were defeated in the Battle of Tamasite, which took place near the the bay of Gran Tarajal. The English were so surprised by how fiercely the poorly armed locals faught that they retreated in fear.
