Fuerteventura is only about 100km in length and about 30 km wide, so nowhere is out of reach if you fancy a day trip in a car. There is so much more to Fuerteventura than lying by the pool, but if that is what you want to do then the apartments and Villas on our site offer exactly what you need.

Places to see

Fuerteventura is a wonderful and interesting island, with a variety of different landscapes. If you spend your whole holiday in your particular resort you will have missed a great opportunity. Among our favourite places to see are the caves of Ajuy and the landscape of Betancuria. Many of the local events go on late into the evening and a car is by far the best way of getting back.

Things to do

Hiring a car also gives you the opportunity to take a few more belongings with you for your trips to the beaches .If you have rented a villa or apartment, shopping will be a much less arduous task.

Where to hire

The is plenty of choice when it comes to hiring a car on Fuerteventura, and many of the smaller companies offer a service that is as good as the larger ones. There are usually plenty of cars available, though less so during July and August.

Documentation

You will need your drivers licence and passport to be able to hire a car. You will also have to pay a deposit on top of the cost of the car. You should read the terms and conditions of hire with care.

The Police

You will need your driving licence, passport, hire certificate in case you are stopped by the police. Checks are fairly frequent so don't worry if you are stopped. A flurescent jacket is required in case of accident or breakdown, this should be provided by the hire company.
