All About Ventura Biking Tours

Founded in 2005 by Stefan Wakeham, Ventura Biking is the first official mountain bike touring company in Fuerteventura. Stefan began by promoting these excursions in summer of 2005 so as to share the rare and beautiful wilderness while making minimal environmental damage.

The centre has become a Mecca for mountain bike enthusiasts of all abilities. The rich diversity of trail systems in the 'La Oliva' area offers exceptional recreational riding.

Riding Levels

In Ventura Biking the trails are graded so that what ever your level, fitness and ability you will feel comfortably challenged. Usually rides last from 2 - 4 hours covering a distance of between 15 and 40 kilometres. The majority of the rides will incorporate as much single track as possible, which is exclusively used by mountain bikers and goats.

LEVEL1 - Confident of basic bike skills and reasonable level of fitness to be able to ride at a steady pace without becoming exhausted.

LEVEL 2 - Happy to ride through single tracks, skilled enough to handle a few drop offs and steeper sections, comfortable to keep up a more constant pace. Looking to start challenging yourself and push the boundaries of your comfort zone.

LEVEL 3 - Taking on steeper volcanic downhill single tracks, larger drops and more technical climbs with a faster pace, most of the challenging stuff has an easy way out option so you can save yourself for the next visit.

LEVEL 4 - Now this is a challenge, this is the best volcanic tracks Ventura Biking has to offer, some of which you may want to save for another visit. Lightening fast single tracks, big drops, technical descents and backbreaking climbs. Are you sure you're ready for a level 4???

The variety of Tours offered

Villaverde Cave Tour

Distance - 16 kms Duration - 3 hrs

Comments - An easy going ride which will take you to the Famous 'Cueva del Llano' caves in Villaverde which includes a 45 minute guided tour in the volcanic caves then back to Corralejo.

Bayuyo Volcano Tour

Distance - 20 kms Duration - 2,5 hrs.

Comments - Visit the volcanoes of Corralejo and enjoy some of the best views of the North Shore of Fuerteventura a top a dormant volcano, followed by some great downhill.

The Goat Trail

Distance - 25 kms Duration - 3,5 hrs

Comments - Go deep in La Oliva's countryside and mingle with the goats on a fun ride along twisting winding tracks with a great variation of terrains.

The North Shore

Distance - 40 kms Duracion - 3 hrs

Comments - Relaxing ride along the north of the island, this is a very easy going trail with spectacular views of the wild north cost of Fuerteventura, making a stop off at the lagoons of Cotillo for refreshments and some local food.

Monta�a Arena

Distance - 42 kms Duracion - 3.5 hrs

Comments - This ride is a great combination of all terrains and variety of tracks, enjoy the volcanic landscape while tackling some superb downhill.

Parque Holand�s

X-Country Distance - 46 kms Duration - 4 hrs

Comments - Another fine route with a wide variety of trails to please any mountain biker.

Esquinzo River Mouth

Distance - 55 kms Duration - 4.5 hrs

Comments - Ride into the hills and follow the dry riverbed path winding its way to the west coast of Fuerteventura. Follow the coastal tracks to Cotillo fishing village then a round track back to Corralejo.

The Marathon

Distance - 86 kms Duracion - 5 - 6 hrs

Comments - Ride the best routes on offer in the north of the Island, definitely for more experienced riders. This will definitely turn the legs to jelly and break the hardest of backs, you'll be glad once you have finished this one!!
